The Challenge

A critical antibiotic intermediate, entirely imported

Every kilogram of cephalosporin consumed by an Indian patient - or exported under an Indian label - traces back to a handful of foreign producers.

The Facility

Located on a 200-kanal greenfield site in Kathua, Jammu, the plant produces 7-ACA through a fermentation and enzymatic-bioconversion process that has been validated end-to-end at the company's Chennai pilot facility.
