| Orchid has a well developed Intellectual Property Management (IPM) department with qualified and experienced personnel to support its operations. The IPM department supports the development of patent applications, files patents, identifies potential new products and markets for APIs and formulations, besides supporting research activities. The team consists of highly experienced technical specialists having an in-depth knowledge of patent laws and experience in identifying, analyzing and solving patent related issues.
Patent applications have been filed in various parts of the world, including the US, PCT, European and Indian patent offices. Several filings have been made in the areas of New Drug Discovery (NDD) and Novel Drug Delivery Systems (NDDS).
Orchid has filed over 440 patent applications across various national and international patent offices. Of these over 100 patents have been published and over 30 granted. 30% of the patent applications are in the areas of drug discovery and other cutting-edge spaces. Going forward, further acceleration in the filing process together with the publication and grant of patents is expected.
